Hal Breaks Bad … in his underwear
Posted by Damon on March 13, 2008

These days there is a lot of good stuff to watch on network television, you got your Heroes, Prison Break, House, Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name is Earl, Scrubs, blah blah blah and even the plethora of C.S.I’s. Don’t get me wrong, I love network television, it takes up a good chunk of my tv viewing time, but not all. Well one day Shane sent me this url for this nifty page blog called Walt’s Wisdom.
To sum it up, Walt’s Windom was a spiffy little Flash video where you plugged in certain info like a person’s name, location and hobbies and it customized the video to be seen by that person. To make a long story short, I found out that Walt is a character on a show called Breaking Bad on AMC so I set my media center to record the show to give it a whirl. I am so glad i did.
Breaking Bad follows the life of Walt White, a regular middle class high school chemistry teacher who was recently diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Walt was sleepwalking through life when he gets the news and it changed his life forever. Armed with the knowledge his life has a definitive length and his family having severe money trouble he takes his profound knowledge of chemistry and teams up with an ex-student of of his to create a rolling meth lab. Think Weeds on wheels, sorta.
I doubt you have heard of this show because it airs on AMC (American Movie Classics) on Sunday nights at 10:00pm EST but I highly suggest you watch the first couple of episodes because you will be hooked. Walt is played by Bryan Cranston of Malcolm in the Middle fame and heads a cast of phenomenal characters/actors. Walt’s partner is crime is Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is a typical “white boy thug” character but Aaron’s performance is and bringing Jesse to life is anything but typical. This show is the type of show that doesn’t come around very often and actually has you caring about the characters after the first episode which is something most network tv shows don’t do. Breaking Bad is a mid-season premiere so season one isn’t very long, clocking in at a whopping 7 episodes, but I’m certain it will be back for a second full season. On March 16th AMC will be running a Breaking Bad marathon so be sure to check it out or set your DVRs to record, you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks for sending me that Walt’s Wisdom link Shane! :)
