According to Wikihow.com there may be hope for you men out there to get your girls to game with you.
See if they have ever played any video games, anything at all, if she has, you may have a better shot at finding what type of games that she likes.
Definitely remind her that if you both play together, that is bonus time that the two of you can spend with each other.
Have fun when playing with her; maybe even help her out if she needs it. Helping her will give you a extra needed bonus.
Make sure that you are positive and supportive of her. Nothing will turn her off more than you criticizing her game play strategies. Even go as far as letting her win sometimes.
Go shopping with her and stop by the game aisle. See if anything catches her eye.
MAKE SURE YOU NEVER CALL HER A NEWB!!
If she gets into games, be prepared to help her when the going gets tough. (more bonus points for you).
If she turns out loving to game,hold onto her !! This will bring the two of you even closer.
Be patient and take the time to explain the controls to her
Try something along the lines of a MMORPG, that way the two of you can start new toons together and build that bond.
Warning though, if you only have one PC or console, be prepared to buy another, especially if she turns out loving to game.
Be descent; don’t scream at her about how she just got pwned, that will turn her off real quick.
If she starts to advance and even beats you, compliment her, do not show a negative attitude, another turnoff.
If she took it upon herself to game because you asked her, maybe you should take up one of her hobbies, hopefully this will not include basket weaving or knitting.
